The Law Box was conceived by Sharné Montgomery during one of the most challenging periods in recent history; the COVID-19 pandemic. Founded with the vision of bridging the gap between individuals in need of legal guidance and the accessibility of professional legal resources, this innovative legal service emerged in direct response to a growing national need.

During lockdown, many South Africans struggled to access legal counsel due to severe movement restrictions, limited appointments, and widespread social isolation. At the same time, national statistics revealed a troubling rise in domestic violence cases, highlighting the urgent need for accessible legal support and protection at a time when many felt vulnerable and unheard.

Recognising these critical issues, The Law Box was created with a clear mission: to make legal advice readily available to everyone, not only during lockdown, but beyond it – regardless of their circumstances or location. Inspired by the simplicity and familiarity of an online shopping boom during this time, the founder reimagined the traditional legal experience by combining modern convenience with trusted legal expertise.

The result was The Law Box. A platform designed to offer quick, user-friendly, and accurate legal advice and direction from the comfort of one’s home, phone, or office.
